[NEW GADGET] Elections are probably the hottest event in Singapore now, but the tablets’ competition is not far behind! On the April 29th, the iPad 2 will be officially on sale in Singapore and in May, comes HTC Flyer, the latest 7” Android tablet from the Taiwanese manufacturers. There are lot’s of difference between HTC Flyer and their recent competitors.
First off, the display; the only other 7” tablet in the market is Samsung Galaxy Tab. Next, HTC Flyer comes with a stylus for writing, but it customize to be used within certain apps such as Evernote for noting taking.
Third, HTC Flyer does not come with the latest line of dual-core processor. You get a single core 1.5GHz processor instead. Slower performance, maybe but specifications aren’t everything. The last major difference comes from the OS. HTC Flyer ships with v2.3 instead of v3.0 like Motorola Xoom or Acer ICONIA Tab.
And oh! HTC Flyer ships with HTC Sense, it’s user interface over the default Android interface. Gotta say, I like HTC Sense (also on other HTC phones) a lot and is looking forward to see it on a larger display.
HTC Flyer will be available through mobile operators and authorized retailers at a suggested retail price of S$1068 from May 2011 onwards.
