Acer ICONIA TAB A500: First of the MANY

[NEW GADGET] Not the first Android tablet in Singapore but I think it’s the first “Honeycomb” one, Android 3.0 has arrived! The famous Android tablet in Singapore is the Samsung Galaxy Tab but Acer ICONIA Tab and possibly the future Android tablets will be a different preposition.

Because Acer ICONIA Tab (what a name) is associated two tablet-related buzzword; Honeycomb and dual core processor. Android 3.0, known as Honeycomb, is built for tablets and has a improved modern interface, browser and makes better use of the screen estate.

And then the dual core processor promises to see less lag in the whole Android experience.

Acer ICONIA Tab is on sale for S$799 now. And more tablets set to follow, Apple iPad 2, Blackberry Playbook… wo la la…

Update 20 April 2011: The current model doesn’t seem to include 3G sim card slot capability. Just to be clear since it’s not mentioned anywhere in the post.

Update 21 April 2011: Play with the ICONIA Tab A500 for a while at Harvey Norman. The salesman confirm that this version does not come with 3G sim card capability, he said “next version is probable though”. Check out my HANDS-ON post (link)!
